Hats off and congrats to the naval commander who gave the command to fire, and the highly trained SEALs. who carried it out. In the days of Blackbeard, Long John Silver, Brute Larson, etc. the penalty for piracy was capital punishment. Should it be different now?
I am surprised that the President didn't fall all over himself apologizing to the pirates and call our Navy arrogant for dispatching the trio of pirates. After all, we don't want the pirates to get mad at us.

except you missed one little detail...the president authorized use of any force to get the captain back not once or twice but three times but left it up to the Naval commander to make the decision as to timing.

From every report that I have read, the pirates were dispatched the day after the president gave the order. What was he doing the previos three days? The order to use any force necessary should have been given the moment the captain was taken.
I read that he gave the order as early as 2 days prior to when the captain authorized the shooting. I do think he seems to be good at gathering facts and looking at all options rather than diving in head first and asking questions after.
I didnt vote for him, but I am rather impressed with a good portion of what i have seen so far.
