I heard this on the radio this morning (I wasn't there to hear it firsthand). 81 years ago, Yankees GM Ed Wade signed Babe Ruth to a two year $160,000 contract. Said Wade, "This contract will never be topped." I hate to tell you, Mr. Wade, but that is less than the WORST player in Major League Baseball makes today.
